longer accept checks from national addressed to LAFRA Unit 367 since the prime
account is set up as FRA Branch 367. LAFRA peso account is OK but all checks that come
from national are in US dollars. Discussed setting up a separate US Dollar account for
LAFRA but FRA treasurer will hold the bank book. Secretary to provide an “original”
notarized copy of the minutes where we voted to set up a LAFRA US dollar account. US
dollar banking in Philippines is difficult.

become effective Jan 01, 2009.

booth for food, FRA merchandise and FRALICs 2009 raffle ticket sales.
12. FRALICs 2009 discussion. Tentative dates are April 3,4,5, 2009. Raffle ticket sales
were dismal last year; we need to a better job selling them this year. Discussed dropping
the price to P150 from P200 to encourage more folks to purchase our raffle tickets.
Discussed the following events:
a. Chili cook-off: (John Kelly tentatively to head)
b. Beauty contest: hopefully Carmen Hendricks and Nancy Mallari to head. Would be
nice to have some locally-sponsored local girls in next year’s event.
c. Darts: Jemma Tubat to head (Ms Tubat ran last year’s FRALICs dart tourney—best
ever!). Discussed doing two dart tournaments: one open for everyone and one under
Barretto dart league rules (ex-pats and women only). Former Vice Mayor Butch Echivere
may help with the open tourney.
d. Pool
e. Horse shoes
f. Raffle tickets: need to take a round turn on raffle tickets to sell more than we did
last year. Would be nice to sell 400 books.
g. Tents: will borrow from VFW11447 and look for sponsors to provide
13. Secretary to draft a letter to the Bermond’s Security Agency requesting
reimbursement for the theft and unauthorized long-distance phone calls while Bermond’
s Security guards had had the watch. Total reimbursement requested is P4230.

Curry cook-off: discussed entering a curry team for January 2009’s event as we did last
year.

renew their ad or we paint it over and offer to someone else.
16. Discussed next year’s FRA 367 officers. Elections in April (at GMM on the first day
of the FRALICs 2009), installation in May 2009. Would be nice to have some “new blood”
involvement.
Meeting was adjourned by President Steakley at 1210.
