Discussion:

1.        Barretto horse shoe league folded—not enough teams/players.

said it was too old. * Note: secretary has taken care of this and is awaiting
response from national.

resolved. The agreement is no veteran’s organization will directly compete with
another for raffle ticket sales: FRA367 sells raffle tickets for the FRAlics in Aril;
VFW11447 sells raffle tickets for July 4th; American Legion sells tickets for Veteran’
s Day in November; VFW2485 sells tickets for Memorial Day in May; RSL Angeles
City sells tickets for Australia Day in January. One per year, per organization.
4.        Beach Bash: Tent and chairs delivered 2/3/09; Bill Moran to deliver grill on
2/5/09. LAFRA to sell food—particularly home-made corn dogs.

8.        Secretary to draft letters to San Miguel and Asia Breweries to request a free
road-side sign. * Note: completed by sec.
9.        FRA367 officer nominations at the March meetings.
10.        LAFRA got their US$ bank account.
11.        Employee salary discussion: future salary changes will be voted on by the
BOD: no changes in employee salaries without approval by the BOD.
12.        Accountant challenges: she seems to show up only when it suits her—not
when we ask her to show. She is to ensure all employees are fully legal with SSS,
PhilHealth, income tax, etc. We pay her to do this for us.
13.        Youth activities discussion: this needs more thought to ensure our efforts
do not go to the undeserving. Scholars program needs re-thought.
14.        Deli discussion: things looking up albeit slowly. Do we need a full-time
employee to run, smoke meat, make sausages, slice, dice, etc? The deli will
become a completely separate enterprise once it is self-supportive.

15.        Mayor’s permit: Steakley to check with former vice-mayor Butch Echivere
on this.

Meeting was adjourned by President Steakley at 1210.
