Minutes: BOD (Board of Directors) meeting April 1 2009 (Wednesday).
The meeting was called to order by President Steakley at 1101.
Present: Shipmates Reid, Brady, Steakley, Simms, Moore, Alvarado, Alvarez, Hazlewood,
Mishenko and canteen Manager Moran.
Discussion:
1. Deli discussion
2. Chili cook-off discussion
3. Rent has been increased by the landlord to $298.00 per month (five percent
increase).
4. Elections at GMM discussion
a. Phillips to run as president
b. Alvarez and Koeppen as VP
5. Easter egg hunt on April 12, 2009; Doty to run.
6. FRAlics 2009
a. BZs to Bill Moran, John Kelly, “Alaska” Bob Perizzo, Carmen Hendricks, and Nancy
Mallari for their tireless efforts in helping with FRAlics 2009. “Alaska” Bob made a life-time
associate member of FRA Branch 367 after a unanimous vote by the BOD.
b. Everything on track
c. Moore purchased an amp to use for music and the 1MC
d. Use RAO van for transportation between FRA and Barretto. *After BOD leaned the
RAO van driver had other plans for the RAO van that the RAO members own. Steakley
arranged a jeeepney for transportation.
e. Membership drive during FRAlics 2009 for FRA and associate members. *Note: all
monies collected from associate membership to be used for youth activities.
f. Overeas FRAlics sponsors to be recognized by wall block recognition (their name
painted on a wall block). Can fit up to 180 blocks. Great idea Shipmate Mishenko!.
g. Moore to donate a bicycle with side-cart to raffle off.
h. Secretary to make sign for FRAlics jeepney
i. Beauty contest: Lady Moore donated a crown for the winner. Carmen Hendricks has
the winner’s sashes.
j. Security to be handled by Barangay East Dirita Tanods. Lady Blair arranging.
k. Sponsor recognition signs to be completed by April 2, 2009.
l. Brady donating a cavan of rice as door prizes.
7. ANZAC Day April 25, 2009 at the Clark cemetery sponsored by Angeles City RSL.
8. Bataan Death March commemoration hosted by VFW 2485 (Angeles City) at the
Capas, Tarlac railroad spur on April 21, 2009.
9. Wall ads update: several panels still need completion and several sponsors have
not paid yet. Estimate P27,000 net.
10. Hawaiian John donated plants to help beautify the outside areas.
11. Still need a Mayor’s Permit. Steakley to check with former vice-mayor Butch
Echivere on this.
