Minutes: General Membership meeting November 7, 2008.
The meeting was called to order by Secretary Simms at 1135. An unfortunate turn of
events forced the absence of the president and vice president.

CONDUCTED OPENING CEREMONIES.
1. Shipmate Roger Sibayan passed away last night. FRA367 will do a grave-side
ceremony if the widow wants.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Canteen Manager: Bill Moran. Report accepted as read.
Patriotism & Americanism: Shipmate Koeppen: Absent.
Hospital & Welfare: Shipmate Alvarez: NTR
Retired Affairs: NTR
Public Affairs: NTR but still looking for a PAO.
Membership: Shipmate Simms: we are holding our own but still have several
deceased members on the Alfa roster and a couple new ones not.
Building and maintenance: NTR
Youth Activities and LAFRA update: NSTR
Treasurer’s Report: Shipmate Moore: report accepted as read.
UNFINISHED AND DEFERRED BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS: BOD Minutes of 01 October 2008 read and discussed. See BOD
minutes of November 5, 2008 for more details.:
1. Motion Alvarez, second Mishenko to renew the fire insurance at P6617.00 per
year. Approved unanimously.
2. Motion Alvarez, second Moore to set up a LAFRA US$ bank account. Approved
unanimously.
COMMUNICATIONS TO BE READ: All correspondence from National and Northwest
region will be posted on the Read Board and only significant correspondence will be
read. No correspondence read. Letter from the PNP requesting support discussed
earlier.

2. 50/50 raffle won by Shipmate Alvarado (P1900 total). P950 went to the nutrition
fund and P950 to the LAFRA.
