Minutes: General Membership meeting February 6, 2009.

The meeting was called to order by President Steakley at 1112.

Visitors or VIPs of mention: none.

CONDUCTED OPENING CEREMONIES.

Very light turn-out: everyone at the Beach Bash

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Canteen Manager: Bill Moran.  Small profit for the month after paying several
large expenses.

Patriotism & Americanism: NTR

Hospital & Welfare:  NTR

Retired Affairs: last American embassy outreach on January 30, 2009 went well.

Public Affairs:  NTR but still looking for a PAO.

Membership: Shipmate Simms: we are holding our own at approx 160 but still have
several deceased members on the Alfa roster and a couple new ones not yet
listed. Signed up three new members and one re-uped this past month.

Building and maintenance:
Deli sink installed. Good, professional job Roger!
Wall ads: Shipmate Mishenko has done an absolutely Outstanding job selling wall
ads to raise money for the building and maintenance fund. 50% collection and only
three spots left. Tom Mishenko has earned the nickname “BullDog” for his
tireless efforts at selling all the wall ad spots plus a couple more.

Youth Activities:  NTR: LAFRA at the Beach Bash.

LAFRA: NTR---LAFRA at the Beach bash.

Treasurer’s Report: Shipmate Moore: report accepted as read. The bank rejected
a check from national because they said it was too old—we have no idea what
their guidelines are on dollar accounts. US dollar banking is difficult here. More to
follow on this but it looks like the secretary will have to send the “old check(s)”
back to national with a letter and request re-issuance. * Note: Sec has drafted a
letter and returned this check to National; awaiting response.

UNFINISHED AND DEFERRED BUSINESS:
1.        Mayor’s Permit needs worked

NEW BUSINESS:  BOD Minutes of 31 December read and discussed (nothing to
vote on). See BOD minutes of February 2 as the main focus of discussion was the
FRAlics 2009. We need to get out there and solicit local sponsors. Excellent
response from our members overseas.

COMMUNICATIONS TO BE READ:  All correspondence from National and Northwest
region will be posted on the Read Board and only significant correspondence will
be read. No correspondence read.

OLD BUSINESS: NTR

GOOD OF THE ORDER:

1.        FRAlics Chili cook-off discussion: “Alaska” Bob Perizo and John Kelly will
run the cook-off. Alaska Bob is an associate member who is and has done good
things for FRA367. Decided to charge P700 per logo on the FRAlics Chili Cook-off
shirts. Design and order to be complete by next GMM, March 6, 2009.
2.        50/50 raffle won by Lady Linda Brady (P900 total). P450 went to the nutrition
