A REMINDER TO AMERICAN CITIZENS ABROAD – MAKE SURE YOUR U.S. PASSPORT IS VALID

A U.S. passport is your key to international travel. When presented abroad, it is a request to foreign governments to permit you to travel or temporarily reside in their territories and access all lawful, local aid and protection. It allows you access to U.S. Consular services and assistance while abroad. Most importantly, it allows you to re-enter the United States upon your return home.

The Embassy reminds all Americans to keep their passport up to date.  Renewal procedures are simple, and are fully described at our website:  www.manila.usembassy.gov. Follow the links for passport services. You may visit www.travel.state.gov for additional information on passports.

The Department of State’s Passport Services Directorate issues U.S. passports to traveling Americans. We protect the integrity of the U.S. passport as proof of U.S. citizenship at home and around the world.

The US State Department reminds and encourages all American Citizen parents residing outside of the United States to register all their American Citizen children and insure that everyone in the family has valid passports.  Whether in the case of emergency or to facilitate routine travel, having a valid passport is important to everyone.
